Sowing seeds of love and compassion, I offer a muti-disciplinary, Embodied and Integrated approach towards Environmental Awareness & Systemic Change.

I believe that sustainable change starts within, when we are

Corporate roots in performance marketing, advertising, digital media, ecommerce and retail technology in Singapore and the Philippines. In my past life, I helped corporations transform their businesses through frameworks and growth hacks that enable digitization, transformation and ecommerce.

I blend Astrology, Psychology, Neuroscience and Practical Mysticism as rudders to assist people to navigate the cosmic tides and anchor them to a deeper understanding of themselves and their connection to the planet as a path to environmental awareness and greater social change.

Deeply exploring the intersection of ecology, contemplative practices and esoteric healing modalities to better frame how our cultural disassociation from nature is the leading cause of environmental degradation.

Shadow Work, Family Constellations, Human Design, Anthropology and History are also areas of study to better understand “Trauma” specifically the “mother wound” and the “womb” as a bridge to the Sacred Feminine.

Before TLC, I was root deep in retail, technology and media. It is in this soup I founded ma-ta, HEART and the values I uphold to this day.

to "Awaken"

I founded ma-ta in 2016, a brainchild of a dream I had after my first trip to Sagada.

The night I arrived from the trip I saw Conservation International’s Nature is Speaking Campaign, specifically Julia Roberts’ voice over to Mother Nature.

That night, I dreamt of Mother Willow waking me up and asking me to help her.

"mata" means “to awaken" in Hiligaynon. I was born in Bacolod but raised and grew up in Manila.

That big aha moment of finding a name after the dream, worthy to mention that I have just passed my first Saturn Return (a big maturation stage in Astrology, a time when Saturn returns to the sign he is at the time you were born) I felt a need, a loud nudge as though I was called to “save” Mother Nature!

That week, I filed my resignation from corporate (the first time) and sent an email to Conservation International, buried myself in ideation and strategy for ma-ta.

It was to be a marketplace for sustainable and artisanal goods, a platform to spark awareness and build collaborative movements towards love and compassion. With funding from Angel Investors, we were to build an eCommerce Management System to help small businesses manage their orders and inventories, provide a directory for NGOs and conservationists to improve communication, donations and knowledge exchange.

Neck deep in tech and conservation work, the harsh realities of data, the dark web, infra and budget - rather the lack thereof (especially for NGOs) rendered me hateful, frustrated, though burning with passion still to “save the world”, I was infuriated by the lack of empathy and awareness of the majority, the power, greed and control held by the minority. It wasn’t a loving and compassionate path at all.

It was during this time I was able to meet, engage, brainstorm with and witness passionate, fearless, purpose-driven individuals most of whom continue to inspire me to this day.

A number have taken their enterprises to great heights answering the call for systemic change with intense determination to make our country better.

there and back again

I went back to corporate in 2019 to head the ecommerce and digital transformation of a large local retail conglomerate, a progression from the post I resigned from in 2016.

It was a leadership role that allowed me fertile ground to practice HEART, the ethos I founded ma-ta on.

With hesitation, I co-led digital transformation, launched local ecommerce websites for some of the world’s top brands, travelled across the globe to receive training from industry leaders, managed a diverse array of beautiful humans - from marketing to warehouse operations, shared insights in conferences here and abroad.

When the pandemic hit, our department absorbed majority of the company’s regular staff to minimise, if not avoid layoffs. My sleepless days became a soiree of meetings, trainings, status reports, exhaustion, burn out & soul deep fatigue.

The harsh realities of running a business led me totally disenfranchised (again). Explicitly being told that the values of HEART do not generate money for the company. Empowerment is not effective management. Hard whips, harsh words yield fear and control.

I refused to uphold old paradigms and labored to champion transformational values of innovation and sustainable efficiency.

Alas.

I resigned and got married in the middle of the pandemic. Regained my soul, re-aligned with my values and allowed my nervous system all the rest and care I could afford.

Inner work became the work.
